Tips on Choosing and Buying a Good Painting
Choosing an appropriate painting to add to your workspace, living room, family room or bedroom you do need a little consideration, but in general it really depends on personal taste. Everyone has different tastes that are influenced by their education and experience. The following basic tips can be considered in displaying paintings:
1. Painting Theme
When buying a new painting, adjust the theme of your painting with the theme or function of the room. Dining Room and Bedroom will be different especially the Living Room or Work Room. Even the Bathroom, Terrace, Stair Walls and even the Pillars of the House will be even more beautiful when displayed properly painted works of art. And if your house has a separate theme then that is also a consideration.
2. Color, size and shape of the canvas Painting
These three things are certainly very closely related to several things:
- The color of the wall where the paintings are displayed.
- Types and Colors of Furniture or other decoration around it
- The width and shape of the place to display the painting
- Also depends on the main concept of your home and interior design
3. Budget
Function Painting or the purpose of buying or displaying paintings is very diverse, because this one artwork was asked for with a variety of purposes as below examples:
- As one element of home decoration only.
- As a souvenir item
- To enjoy the beauty of the work itself
- As a collectible item
- Be one form of investment and business
From thosr things above, we can estimate the budget we prepared. If our goal is to buy paintings as mere interior elements, then the issue of theme, color and size of the painting is very important. And budget problems can be interrupted. such as hunting for paintings in the cheap art market, ordering via the internet, making your own paintings, or asking friends who are learning to paint or asking for failed paintings from professional painters.
If you buy a painting as a souvenir, then choose a work that reflects the culture of the area where the work was made. For example, if you travel to Jogja, then buy original Jogja paintings and not Balinese paintings. So the price is negotiable as low as the important ones made in local Jogja or Bali.
Buying a painting to enjoy or like is very much dependent on the value of the sense of art we have. The priority here is personal taste. Then the budget to buy paintings must be really available, because to get this painting requires time and place and the right opportunity and adequate funds. Even better would be obtained by ordering directly from the painter.
Paintings for ordinary collections are paintings that have special significance for their interest. In this website we provide the selection of paintings which is very personal. Only the collector knows why they collect it. For example because of the historical value of the painter or his paintings, the personal closeness between the artist and the collector, gifts from important people, etc. What is clear that the budget to obtain this painting can be very expensive because they have to hunt down paintings to the auction hall or it can be free, because given a gift by relatives or by the artists themselves.
And finally.. if we buy paintings for business and investment, then this is already in another region. The market plays the main role. The important thing is that economic law runs. That is law capital but high profit.
